Fixing a car takes training and a keen brain
The State Farm insurance company of Oregon has donated a wrecked Honda Civic to the OSP automotive program of Chemeketa Community College. But this was no ordinary car, it was a hybrid. This donation is very much appreciated by students and staff alike as they work towards increasing their knowledge of new automotive technologies.
Having this hybrid in the shop allows our program to remain at the forefront of innovative technology and industry standards. Hybrid technology is the way in which auto companies are moving and it gives the students a leg up on the competition. Students say that they are very excited to take it apart and get a good look at the electronics and the fuel systems.
